Partnership between Citrotec® and Uni-Systems INC, an American company, based in Florida, leader in diffuser engineering, with proven technology for over 40 years in sugarcane preparation and juice extraction. This partnership intends to offer diffusers with high extraction efficiency and low investment cost when compared to traditional mills.
In the Diffusers, sucrose is extracted by washing the crushed sugarcane with hot absorption water, in a multistage virtual countercurrent pattern.
The sugar cane, after being crushed and placed at the entrance of the diffuser, moves towards the opposite end, where the sugarcane bagasse is discarded.
As this process occurs, hot-absorbing water is moving in the opposite direction of the bagasse, becoming richer in sucrose at each stage.
Sucrose extraction occurs by mass transfer between two liquid phases at different concentrations under the action of the absorption fluid. This process ensures high efficiency in sucrose extraction.
