Citrotec® completes 23 years bringing innovation to the citrus, food, mining, and sugarcane sectors
Citrotec® has much to celebrate: the company completes 23 years of hard work and dedication this March. Technical director Paulo Sampaio remembers that the business arose from scratch to meet the need for qualified maintenance services for large citrus juice corporations. "Over time, we realized the market's lack of equipment in this area and thus became an industry. We kept growing and growing and in 2005, we also entered the sugarcane industry," he recalls.
Over these more than two decades, everyone who has been part of this story has dedicated themselves and given their best to get us here. The achievements are countless, such as the expansion into several extremely important sectors for our country's economy, and success abroad, with equipment and services spread across several countries worldwide. Citrotec® has gained prominence in the market and has become one of the main suppliers of equipment and technological solutions for industries in the country, mainly those in the citrus, food, mining, and sugarcane sectors.
Currently, it has two modern manufacturing plants, with over 5,000 m², two international subsidiaries (the United States and Mexico), and strong partnerships capable of meeting the most diverse needs of customers. "We develop innovative and personalized products that make a difference," emphasizes Sampaio. Today, the company carries out the entire project from end to end, from equipment development and manufacturing to assembly and technical assistance.
Innovation
Offering innovation through new products is the focus of Citrotec®'s work. Therefore, the company constantly invests in research and new technologies led by a qualified professional team that uses the best software in the world. "This strategy always positions us ahead, offering customers high-quality products and services. In this way, we grow together by gaining more and more credibility in Brazil and abroad," says Sampaio.
Among the equipment created by Citrotec® are the Turbulent Mist Evaporators, Vinasse Concentrators, Ecovin®, and Ecovin JL®, the latter developed in partnership with renowned engineer and evaporation specialist Jaime Lacerda. In addition, Citrotec® was the first Brazilian company to develop, manufacture, and install the first equipment for corn ethanol with exclusively national technology.
"The development of cutting-edge technologies runs in the Citrotec®'s veins. In addition to these devices, there are two pilot projects running worldwide to test their application in new products and the creation of new technologies," he says.
The founders, directors, employees, and third parties work tirelessly to make the company increasingly solid and prestigious. Currently, there are over 300 employees, two renowned engineering companies, Etech and BTZ, and two international companies, Uni-Systems and FoodBev Integrity, representing Citrotec® commercially in the United States, Mexico, and Central America.
New horizons
The company's expansion around the world began in the United States. The first subsidiary was Citrotec® LTD, which later became Citrotec® International, located in the state of Florida, in the city of Key Biscayne. Then the company invested in further expansion, this time in Mexican territory. Thus, in 2018, Citrotec® Mex was born in Monterrey/MX. "It was through these two subsidiaries that we became known worldwide by sending our work to various countries such as Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Argentina, Ghana, Greece, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Israel, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, and the United States," emphasizes Sampaio.
